Ian Jaydid – Awakening to the Dream: The First Step – June 17, 2022

In this presentation, author, artist, and public speaker Ian Jaydid discusses his 35+ years of direct experiences with lucid dreaming and how the phenomenon is merely the first step in a larger journey into paranormal states of consciousness and enlightenment.

Ian JaydidIan Jaydid is the author of “Tripping the Field” and “Migration”, the creator of Iboga Moon Productions as well as the video series “Conscious Migration”, an exploration of consciousness based on his last book. Around the age of 19, Ian began spontaneously lucid dreaming, a unique state of consciousness where the dreamer becomes fully cognizant of the fact that they are dreaming. As these experiences grew in frequency and intensity, Ian was eventually forced to wrestle with his understanding of reality, the ego, and the very bounds of awareness. His journeys eventually led to an array of paranormal phenomena including Out of Body states, energetic healing, and encounters with UFOs. Today he writes and speaks to others about the conclusions he’s drawn on everything he’s encountered over the years so that others can explore these same realms and hopefully expand upon his research.

Humans typically lack awareness that they are dreaming while dreaming. However, at times, a remarkable exception occurs and reflective consciousness can be regained while dreaming, referred to as lucid dreaming. While most individuals rarely experience lucid dreams there is substantial variance in lucid dream frequency. The neurobiological basis of lucid dreaming is unknown, but evidence points to the involvement of the anterior prefrontal cortex and parietal cortex. “Dreaming can be viewed as the special case of consciousness without the constraints of external sensory input. Conversely, perception can be viewed as the special case of dreaming constrained by sensory input” – Stephen LaBerge
